Red nail polish is definitely a must-have this season. Red will forever be that unique color, that will never lose its charm.
Red nail polish is one of the hottest trends when it comes to nail polish, regardless what the shade you choose, bold and sophisticated or a youthful one like coral red.

One of the greatest selling items in the cosmetic industry is OPI nail polish. Look around and you’ll see that most women wear some nail polish.
Red nail polish is timeless.The art of applying color to fingernails started around 3000 B.C. in China. The mixture they use to make nail polish was a hodgepodge of bees’ wax, gelatin, gum arabic, and egg whites. The Chinese also added the petals of flowers such as roses and orchids, and alum to their polish.
Modern nail polish was invented in the 1920′s. The Charles Revson company became Revlon (they added the L in the middle of the name for the other co-founder Lachman). The first Revlon nail polish went on sale in 1932.
The use of red nail polish has been registered as early as the 15th century, when it was told that members of the Ming dynasty’s royalty used red (and black) to paint their nails.
The most famous and most powerful women in Egyptian history also favored the use of red nail polish: Queen Nefertiti was fond of using ruby red for her fingers and toes, while Cleopatra regularly had her nails done in crimson.
It’s as well interesting to note that women from lower ranks were forbidden to use deep red nail polish or nail color and they were only allowed to use much lighter shades.
By 1940, long red fingernails became very popular, due to Hollywood starlets and pinups, especially to actress. Since then, red nails remained on top, either long or short.
As we all know red is a very sexy, fiery, hot color! Red nail polish can make any woman feel sexy and vibrant.
